Janelle Monae pays homage to Greek life in her new video for the title single off her latest album, Electric Lady. The video, chock full of cameos, features Janelle rocking her natural hair in all it’s moisturized glory with a dash of color, that’s a small step away from her usual black and white uniform. The video opens up with Janelle’s mom (her real momma) questioning her about her sorority, Electric Phi Beta. Estelle, T-Boz, Kimbra, Esperanza Spalding, Monica and T.I. all make cameos through the video as that will leave you with a wide smile across your face.
Homeage is paid to all the frats of the Divine 9, as the men do signature moves from each organization. And I couldn’t help but laugh at the “probates” towards the end of the video. Wait for someones line to probate with those visors…I’m sure. Check the pics and video below.
