My HoneyChild Type 4 Hair Creme is hands down the best hair product I have ever used. The bees knees and all that goodness, this is one of the most versatile moisturizing products I have ever used. I first used this product in the dead of winter. You know the time of year where you have to reconfigure your entire moisturizing regimen because that cold hair just sucks all the life out of everything – yeah, that’s when I first gave the My HoneyChild Type 4 Creme a try. And not only did it do the damn thing, but I didn’t have to use ANY other product. That is practically unheard of in the land of 4C natural hair, but ma’am, this here is the truth.

Homebrewed by Krika of Sophia’s Sunflower Salon out of Raleigh, North Carolina, the My HoneyChild Type 4 Hair Creme is chock full of all natural ingredients with NO shea butter – a win for those ladies who are allergic. It will leave your hair feeling nice, soft and like a fluffy cloud, whether you style it into twist outs or set with rollers. My favorite is to do lazy bantu knot outs or set with perm rods as this product has NO glycerin it’s perfect for curly big hairstyles.

Along with being able to use this as my ONLY product after washing my hair, the My HoneyChild Type 4 Hair Creme also allows me to set my hair for an hour or two and achieve a loose curl. It’s magic in a jar, for someone who has the bad habit of falling asleep without setting their hair. Set your hair in the morning with a dab of the creme, set it in bantu knots or with rollers and let it rock till you get to work. Voila!

My tips for using:

  1. If using right after wash, dab a little into your hair and allow to air dry until slightly damp. Then add more when you go to style.
  2. A little goes a VERY long way. Really you will not need a lot of this product. Use sparingly and you’ll be fine.
  3. Do not use with other creamy products. I find this works fine all by itself, if you need to use with other products (maybe gel to hold the hairstyle) use lighter products. It will get greasy fast.
  4. Relaxed girls love it too!

Tis’ all. For anyone who’s been having a hard time moisturizing their hair…this is definitely the product to try.

My HoneyChild Type 4 Hair Creme is available at MyHoneyChild.com,  various online retailers and in store locations. $25 for 16oz jar.

  1. That video was HILARIOUS! I’m make my own shea butter mixture which is THE BEST for me, but I’m going to get this as a back up aka when I’m to lazy to make my own.

  2. Thanks for the confirmation! I totally agree with you! I use this product for the ends of my 4c hair.
it works best for me if the hair is almost dry after a light leave-in like a watered down Darcy’s Botanical’s pumpkin seed or Curl Junkie Smoothing lotion.

The smell is a bit minty so I have tried to replace this fantastic cream, spending tons of money and my hair has insisted on My Honey Child Type 4 cream as being the best of the best!

  3. P.S. Shea butter was the worst experience for my hair. I have low porosity hair and not even coconut oil can be left on (can just be used as a pre-poo) so Type 4 cream is heaven sent! I would have gone back to a relaxer had I not found this cream. I do home that they offer different scents in the future!

  4. I just tried this and it is EVERYTHING!! I have a DIY crisco/Shea creme that I love but this right here is wonderful magic in a jar!

  5. I’m about to buy this just ’cause o’ you Jouelzy…my struggle for moisture and soft tresses has been epic…really hope this works

  6. Do you have any recommendations for an itchy scalp that’s not necessarily flaky or dry? For example, I washed my hair on Saturday, deep conditioned and followed with a black tea/aloe vera juice/lavender/ACV rinse. It’s Sunday and I got the itchies but my scalp isn’t dry. I used to grease my scalp with a mix of olive/rosemary/thyme oil but I realized that I got a lot of product build-up on my scalp with that so I don’t do it anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated (thanks)
