Every now and again daughter opts for two-strand twists instead of her trusty go-to box braids. They’re quick, easy and do not require an entire Sunday to complete. Besides these chunky twists are indeed a cute look on her thick hair. Typically, Nia Imani elects to rock this twisted style, strands dangling from under a loose fitting crochet hat, for three days before deciding she’s ready for the twist out. Well this time we did something different. We wanted to stretch her twists. Starting at the back, I stretched, criss-crossed and pinned the twists around her head attempting to elongate the hair. What she nor I counted on was the discovery of another cute style popping up somewhere near her crown. In the morning, after switching out some of the larger bobby pins for smaller ones, daughter was off to school.
